How to get Birth, Marriage or Death certificates?
- If know the number and date of birth or marriage, death certificate and date are 100 rupees,
- If you do not know the date of birth or marriage or death certificate and do not know the date 200.00 rupees can be obtained from the Divisional Secretariat.
- Certificates can be obtained from Divisional Secretariat Elahera from 1960 to 2014 (occurring in Sri Lanka or abroad) of birth, marriage or death.
How to register Births?
- If normal birth, three months prior to the birth registration of a birth registry, the relevant birth should be registered.
- Meet the Additional District Registrar for registration of Births, Births, Births and Deaths within three months and obtain relevant information.

How to create a widows' & orphans pension after the death of a civil pensioner?
- First, get the death certificate of the pensioner and stop the pension.
- If there is more money, contact the bank and repatriation it.
- Then inform the relevant person to bring the following documents.
- Original copy of death certificate of the pensioner
- The original copy of the widow's birth certificate
- Original marriage certificate
- Photocopy of widow's bank passbook
- Photocopy of widow's ID card
- A photocopy of the widow-orphan card or the widow-orphan number
- Colour photos of passport size certified by Grama niladhari
- All photocopies of the above documents, h\should be certified by Grama Niladhari.
- After making relevant information, make a file and arrange for the creation of a widows' orphan's pension.
